Roberto Montesinos played his first series regular in Amazon Prime’s REACHER Season 3 as “Guillermo Villanueva,” a 30 year DEA Agent on the verge of retirement somehow finding himself as a member of Jack Reacher’s team.
Roberto has played supporting roles in Cameron Crowe’s WE BOUGHT A ZOO with Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg’s FATHER STU, Amazon’s BLISS with Selma Hayek and Owen Wilson.
Roberto also had multiple television appearances including 911 LONE STAR, NCIS: LA, CHANCE, BOSCH, SOUTHLAND, and, THE ROOKIE, COLD CASE, and SCANDAL.
Roberto served in the US Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program, one of the most highly respected and challenging programs in the world, for eight years.

Answers to questions I have been asked.
I was part of the US Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program where we trained on operating reactor plants on submarines, cruisers and aircraft carriers. Initial qualification as a Nuclear Reactor Plant Operator (Mechanical) took two years.
I was given the privilege of being a Staff Instructor at MARF (S7G) at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Ballston Spa, NY where I was part of a training team to prepare sailors for the Naval Fleet. And that is where the learning really started, when we were responsible for providing the fleet with competent reactor plant operators.
It was an honor to serve aboard the USS Arkansas CGN-41 for four years. About 160 of us "Nukes" operated/maintained two nuclear reactors 24/7 together and it was an honor to be a part of that team.
Just like it felt to be a part of MARF amd the USS Arkansas teams: an Absolute Honor. The Reacher production team had the highest and most consistent sense of Group Morale of any film or television project that I have ever worked, and that is a very high barre.
My first prime time theatrical acting job was on FX's "The Shield" about 20 years ago directed by Gary Fleder, who also directed epsiode 3. It was an absolute pleasure spending time with Gary on and off set. Gary gave me so much advice and encouragement with hitting the gym: he has an incredible and well-maintained physique, and a heart the size of a mountain. Thank you Gary!!
Timelines depend heavily on the project's scope and complexity. Smaller projects might take 3-4 weeks, while larger, more involved projects can range from 2 to 4 months. I always provide a detailed timeline estimate after the initial discovery phase.
For me, working on Reacher 3 was a Master Class wich had a supportive collaborative atmosphere:
- Executive Producer Mick Betancourt: Do what it takes to be Super Prepared come camera time.
- Sonya Cassidy (DEA Agent Susan Duffy) generously shared how she super-prepared for the camera opoosed to for the theater.
- Alan Ritchson (Jack Reacher) generously shared how to efficiently and effectively memorize massive amounts of text and how to up my "Camera IQ"
- Sam Hill (directed 7 out of 8 episodes) effectively helped me become a much better actor with each take of "Good Energy!"
Every day on set is a day in Heaven surrounded by Angels. I love the preparation: the research, the investigation, experiemntation and repition, and showing up to set fully prepared and eager for the adjustments and contributions/advice of the Director and fellow cast members. I love the Teamwork aspect.
I was inspired by Alan Ritchson and encouraged from various crew members from the Stunts Team, Wardrobe, Hair, Makeup and Special Effects to hit the gym regularly and consistently, not for more acting work but for a better day to day feeling. They were right!!
